From the responses on the last post, I think a shorter timeframe would work for pretty much everyone! (Me as well!) I wanted to leave that discussion open for a little, but I think a fair amount of time has passed now.

Since no one seemed too attached to discussion posts with set deadlines/timeframes, we can adopt what tullycat proposed (having one discussion post for live reactions, instead) for the next books. I'll still post a final post for discussion purposes as well!

I'm proposing the following schedule, and also that we pick our next two books at once, since there were a lot of good nominations last time, and most of the things we brought up this time were repeat nominations. Here's a little poll for that; I'll close this in a week. I've pulled the books that were suggested/repeated in our last discussion post for that.

If anyone would like to campaign for a choice, please comment below!

Proposed Schedule:
  • May 29 - June 5: Poll Open
  • June 8: Poll results go up (both book picks)
  • June 8 - June 15: A week to acquire Book #1
  • June 15 - July 13: Reading Book #1
  • July 13 - July 20: Discussing Book #1

  • July 20 - August 17: Reading Book #2
  • August 17 - August 24: Discussing Book #2

I wasn't expecting so many people to be interested in Middlemarch when I mentioned it, but now I really want it!! So please vote for Middlemarch!

If Middlemarch gets through may I respectfully lobby for it to be book #2 because I played myself, it's 900 pages and I won't have a lot of time in June lol.
